SWANSEA - Aida A. (Avella) Sequeira, age 86 of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at St. Anne's Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Aida was beloved wife of 61 years to John M. Sequeira and the daughter of the late Humberto Avella and the late Constantina (Ocehinelo) Faria. She was also the step-daughter of the late Antone Faria.

Prior to retiring, Aida worked as a sewing machine operator in the textile business. She was a devoted parishioner of St. John of God Church and very active with the church functions and feasts.

In addition to her husband John, Aida is survived by her sister Euvalda Sequeira and her husband Joseph of Swansea; several godchildren, nieces, nephews, and five cousins. Aida was also the sister of the late Michael Avella.

Aida's visitation will take place on Saturday, Sep. 7th from 8-9:30 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John of God Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
