FALL RIVER - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Alda Borges, age 85, of Fall River, MA. Born in Terceira, Açores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Cardoso Borges and Margarida Alzira (Evangelho) Borges.

A beloved woman who was known for her private and humble nature. Alda worked for many years at Aberdeen as a machine operator, taking great pride in her work and the life she built. Outside of work, she had many talents and interests. She was a wonderful cook and a perfect seamstress, creating beautiful things with her hands and sharing her talents with those she loved.

Family was especially important to her, and she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. They brought her tremendous happiness, and she treasured every moment and memory made with them. She was also blessed with many wonderful friends who meant a great deal to her.

She enjoyed going to the casino and loved the excitement and fun of trying her luck. Her faith was also a very important part of her life. She was a deeply religious woman who faithfully attended Mass every week, drawing strength and comfort from her faith.

Alda is survived by her children Diana Fogg and John Borges; siblings Maria Borges, Eduarda Regeira, George Borges, Helena Borges; 4 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; she is predeceased by her sister Fernanda Borges.

A morning visitation for Alda will be held Saturday, August 22nd from 8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St Fall River, MA followed by a service at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
