Fall River – Alexandrina "Conceicao" (Tavares) de Sousa passed away on Tuesday, March 15 at St. Annes Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of Antonio T. de Sousa and the daughter of the late Manuel and Alexandrina Encarnacao (Pimentel) Tavares.  She was born in Sao Vincente Ferreira Sao Miguel, Azorees.

Conceicao worked as a machine operator for many years at Santoro.  She was a life time parishioner of St. Michaels Church and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Besides her husband she is survived by her children; Filomena Furtado and her husband Jorge, Antonio Sousa and his wife Ana, Eduardo Sousa and his wife Maria and Lurdes Paiva and her husband Manny; 7 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings; Maria dos Anjos Tavares and Guilhermina Duarte.

Alexandrina's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N Main St. Fall River, MA 02720 on Monday, March 21 at 9:00 A.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michaels Church.  Interment at St. Patricks Cemetery in Fall River.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 20 ^th from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.rogersfuneral.com .
