Alice Cabral, age 91 of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Tiverton, RI, Alice was the beloved wife of the late Maurice J. Cabral and the daughter of the late Manuel & Anne (Correia) Tavares-Garcia. She was also the mother of William Lemelin (wife Chris) of Somerset and Judith Ann Medeiros (husband Richard) of Swansea.

Prior to retiring, Alice worked as a sewing machine operator in the local area garment mills. In her leisure time, Alice enjoyed crocheting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her great-great granddaughter.

In addition to her son Bill and daughter Judy, survivors include her brother Dennis Garcia (wife Diane); 5 grandchildren: Stacy Hammond (husband Dave), Rick Medeiros (wife Nicole), Steve Mederos (wife Kelly), Shawn Lemelin (wife Judy), and Charlene Menezes (husband Heath); many great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; several nieces & nephews. Alice was also the sister of the late Delores Medeiros, James Tavares, and Pauline Dupree.

Following cremation, Alice's graveside service will take place on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River.
