With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Amanda Lynn O'Connell of Somerset, who passed away suddenly on September 20, 2024, at the age of 17, leaving her family and friends heartbroken. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Sandy (Aguiar) Cumiskey and Mark O'Connell.

Amanda was a student at Somerset-Berkley High School and worked at the Subway Restaurant in Somerset. She was known for her sweet nature and beautiful smile. Amanda cherished spending time with her family, especially on camping trips and car rides with her mom. She had a passion for shopping and a deep love for animals. She often talked about her dreams of traveling the world, a dream she will now carry with her in peace.

Along with her parents she is survived by her siblings Ashley O'Connell, Scott Cumiskey, Jakob Aguiar and Ryan O'Connell; grandmothers Belmira Aguiar and Pat O'Connell; nieces Summer and Sophia Cumiskey and nephew Julian Lagasse; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends who will sadly miss her. She was predeceased by her grandfathers Jacinto "Jesse" Aguiar and James O'Connell.

Amanda's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Monday, September 30th at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Calling hours on Sunday, September 29th from 3-6 PM.
