Angelo
Medeiros
Aug 5, 1936 — Jun 20, 2026
Taunton
TAUNTON - Angelo Medeiros, born in Furnas, São Miguel, Açores, passed away on June 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, generosity, and unwavering support for those he loved most. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Angelo found his greatest joy in caring for his family. Before the passing of his beloved wife, Maria (Leonardo) Medeiros, they shared a love of travel and enjoyed many adventures together. Yet even while planning trips, Angelo always made sure they fit around his grandchildren's schedules. He never wanted to miss an opportunity to help, support, or simply be present in their lives.
He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the center of his world. Proudly referring to himself as "the taxi," Angelo happily spent countless hours shuttling them from school to sports, activities, and home again. No request was too small when it came to his family. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer advice, help build or fix something, and share his thoughts-whether asked for or not. Above all, he was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and celebrated their accomplishments with genuine joy.
Angelo was an avid soccer fan and rarely missed a chance to watch his beloved Benfica play. His passion for the game was matched only by his passion for staying active. He greeted each day before sunrise, often heading out at the crack of dawn for a five-mile walk, followed by a bike ride. His energy, discipline, and commitment to healthy living were admired by all who knew him.
At home, Angelo took great pride in caring for his yard and garden. He manicured his lawn with such dedication and precision that it often resembled a perfectly maintained golf course. His vegetable garden was another labor of love, and he found great joy in tending to it throughout the growing season. Whether it was tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, or other fresh vegetables, Angelo's harvest was never just for himself. He delighted in sharing the fruits of his hard work with family, friends, and neighbors, always making sure others could enjoy what he had grown. His garden reflected the same qualities that defined his life-patience, hard work, generosity, and a desire to care for those around him.
Angelo will be remembered for his kindness, dependability, work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family. He was always there when needed, always willing to help, and always putting others before himself. His presence will be deeply missed, but the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will remain with his family forever. His family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the children and grandchildren he loved so dearly.
He was loved and cherished by many people including his children Ozzie Medeiros (wife Gretchen) of Dighton and Brenda Moynihan (husband Dennis) of Dighton; grandchildren Justin Medeiros (wife Mariah), Mckala Mendes (husband Paulo), Kyle Moynihan (wife Sierra) and Collin Moynihan; great grandchildren Vincent Medeiros and Lucca Mendes. He was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Maria do Carmo (Elizardo) Medeiros and his siblings Mariana Elizardo, Susana Lopes and Margaret Rego.
