Antone R. Soares, 84, also known as "Duke", peacefully passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 at Catholic Memorial Home. Born May 17, 1940 in Fall River, Antone was the beloved husband of the late Natalie A. (Sousa) Soares and the son of the late Antone and Mary (Medeiros) Soares.

Prior to retiring, Antone worked for Raytheon on the SCUD Missile Project during the Persian Gulf War. Duke was a loyal and devoted son, husband , father, grandfather, and friend.  His family was most important to him. He often took family members into his home in their time of need.  He always believed in being honest, kind,  and having integrity in his approach to life.  He was the perfect example of what a father or friend should be. He always tried to do the right thing.  He had a great sense of humor and classic one liners.  He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his son Rodney Soares (wife Wendy) of Dighton, MA and his daughter Shelley Dickson (husband Nick) of Mexico, ME; three grandchildren R.J. Soares (wife Elisabeth), Nicholas "Nick" Soares (fiancée Syvanna Caponigro), and Wyatt Duke Dickson; and one great granddaughter Palmer Soares.

Antone's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024 here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
