Antone Pontes, age 98, of Fall River, passed away on Thursday July 21, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucinda (Raposa) Pontes and the son of the late Frank and Maria (Arruda) Pontes. Antone was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine Corps. He worked as a Fall River Police officer for 30 years and was affectionately known to those he helped on the streets as "Uncle Tony". He was also a member of Royal Travelers Melody Club. He was known for his sense of humor and caring nature.

Antone cherished the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his children Thomas Pontes Sr. (wife, the late Rita Pontes) of Spring Valley, CA and Beverly Brazao (husband Gabriel) of Raynham, MA, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, August 2nd in La Mesa, California. Burial arrangements are being made under the direction of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
