With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arlene Dorothy DeMarco, formerly of Dartmouth and Tiverton, who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Leonard L. DeMarco, and born in Fall River to the late Manuel and Mary (Cabral) Carreiro. Arlene served honorably in the Air Force as a nurse, attaining the rank of Captain. She later returned to St. Anne's Hospital, where she had trained to be a nurse, to work in their cancer registry. Arlene was an avid reader, traveler, and bird watcher.

She was loved and cherished by her daughters Mary (DeMarco) Olszowka of Somerville and Jennifer DeMarco of Brighton; son-in-law Peter Olszowka; sisters Marjorie Couse and Shirley O'Connor; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, December 20th at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Newport Memorial Park in RI. Calling hours on Tuesday, December 19th from 4-7 PM.
