SWANSEA - With profound sorrow, we share the loss of Arlene A. Mello, age 89, who passed away on August 24, 2025 at Country Gardens Nursing Center. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Phoebe (Moniz) Mello.

Arlene was a devoted Christian and loving woman of faith who is now in the presence of her Savior. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her giving heart, her faith, and the happiness she brought to others.

For many years, she worked as a payroll clerk at Tic Toc Frock Manufacturing, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. Outside of her career, Arlene found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to dance, play bingo, and knit special gifts for her beloved nieces and nephews. Always cheerful and generous, she had a happy spirit that brightened every gathering. Arlene cherished time spent with her family above all else, and her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews Lt. Colonel Edgar George, Jr. (wife Barbara) of Lafayette Hill, PA, Lena Wicks (husband Larry) of Bellingham, MA, John George of Plattsburgh, NY, Major Paula Spencer (husband Donald) of Wethersfield, CT, Mary Cutter (husband Glen) of Plattsburgh, NY, Cheryl George (fiancé Dan Talbot) of Sharon, VT; as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret George.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 30th, at the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 North Main Street, Fall River, beginning at 9 A.M., with a funeral service to follow at 9:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
