Somerset- Armand "Teddy" A. Simard, age 75, passed away peacefully on August 3rd alongside his family. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Armand D. Simard and Hilda (Couture) Simard.

Ted was a devoted husband and father. He was married for over 50 years to his beloved wife Joyce, whom he met in high school. Ted always had a passion for entrepreneurship. Ted earned his bachelors of  Business Administration at Roger Williams University. In 1986, he and his wife Joyce started Preferred health care Services, where Ted would handle the financial aspects, and Joyce dealt with the sales and marketing parts of the business. Ted had an undeniable drive and work ethic in everything he did.  Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling.  Joyce and Teddy went on over 29 cruises from Alaska to the Mediterranean.  He also loved to spend time with his family at the New Hampshire condominium or their boat in Narragansett Bay.   His most memorable experience is the Disney Cruise he went on with his grandchildren.  Ted loved talking about stocks and business.  He loved reminiscing about the cars of his teens and 20s, especially his olive-green Firebird.  He loved guitars and continued playing late into his life.  He was a man of deep faith, from being an altar server in his youth to volunteering at church events.  He was a faithful parishioner of St. John of God Parish. Most of all, Teddy valued his relationships with his family and loved talking with his grandchildren about their interests. He truly loved the big holiday get-togethers at his home.  He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be deeply missed.

Besides his loving wife, Joyce (DaPonte) Simard, Ted is survived by his children; Christopher Simard and his wife Erin of Ladera Ranch, CA, and Lisa Joy Matarese and her husband Mike of Somerset; his sister; Gloria Rego of Bristol, R.I; his grandchildren; Christopher, Katherine, Luke, Hayley, Mikey, Nicholas, Isabella, and Tyanna; his Goldendoodle Sophia; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Gordon Simard Esq.

Friends and family are invited to meet directly at St. John of God Church in Somerset for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 7th at 10:00 A.M.  Burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River.  Calling hours will be held at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N.
