SOMERSET - With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara A. Souza, formerly of Fall River, who passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends.  Beloved spouse of the late Joseph B. Souza, and born in Fall River, daughter of the late Charles and Erminia (Silvia) Soares. Prior to retiring as a dietary aide for the Fall River Public Schools, she worked as a machine operator for Louis Hand over 30 years. She was a parishioner at St. Michael's Parish and formerly of the Holy Rosary Church.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her children Joseph B. Souza Jr. (wife Linda) of Westport and Donna Herring (husband Howard II) of Swansea; grandchildren Nicole M. Rodrigues (husband Shane), Joseph R. Souza and Jennifer L. Souza; great-grandchildren Caroline and Emily Rodrigues. Barbara was predeceased by her siblings Kathleen Munroe and Charles Soares Jr.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Wednesday, May 3rd with extended calling hours from 9-10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
