Beverly Mae Amarantes

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beverly Mae Amarantes, age 86, who passed peacefully on July 27, 2026 at St. Annes Hospital. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter to the late Donald Platt and Hazel (Lewis) Platt.

She was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending her time crocheting, reading, and working on crossword puzzles. Above all, she cherished her family and adored her children, who were the center of her world.

She lived a simple, humble life, finding happiness in the love of those around her and the quiet moments she shared with family and friends. Her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She survived by her children: Diana Sefrino (husband Ronald) of Fall River, the late Robert Amarantes, Beverly Amarantes (companion Kenneth Demello) of New Bedford, the late Michael Reis, Stephen Amarantes of Fall River, Mark Amarantes (wife Lori) of Fall River, Stacy Lessa of New Bedford and Scott Amarantes of Fall River; the late Holly Amarantes; siblings: Donald Platt (wife Mildred) of FL, the late Dorothy Benoit of Chicopee; grandchildren: Ryan Sefrino (Fall River), the late Tara Mello (New Bedford), Faith (Mello) Peterson (UT), Kimberly Silva (New Bedford), Keith and Robert Amarantes (both of New Bedford), Steven Amarantes (WI), Brittney Amarantes (Warwick), Tyler Amarantes (TX), Ryan Amarantes (PA), Michael and Tiffany Reis (Fall River),Teshia, Brandy, Katrina, Damien Amarantes (all of Fall River), Hannah (Amarantes) Kenyon (Dartmouth), Kara Lessa (Fall River), Sarah Lessa (Chiopee), Jacob Lessa (New Bedford), Brooke (Amarantes) Coehlo (Pawtucket), Christopher Feijo (Hyannis), along with many great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews.

Her calling hours will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday, July 31st from 4-7 P.M. with a service at the funeral home at 6 P.M by Pastor Wayne Patenaude. Cremation to follow.
