SOMERSET - Carlos "Charlie" A. Arruda, age 62, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Somerset Ridge Center in Somerset, MA.

Born in Santa Barbara, Sao Miguel, Azores, Carlos was the son of Maria (Batista) Arruda of Fall River, MA and the late Leonardo Arruda. He leaves behind his longtime companion, Margaret Guillmette of Fall River, MA.

Charlie worked for many years as a machine operator in the local textile industry.  He was known for his love of sports, especially the New York Yankees. Recently, Charlie enjoyed a trip to see the Woo Sox in their new home at Polar Park in Worcester, MA.

In addition to his mother and companion, Carlos is also survived by his sister, Gorette Aguiar (husband Guilherme) of Somerset, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Arthur Arruda, Jose Arruda, Susan Levesque, and Maria Adriano.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28th from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 North Main Street, Fall River, MA. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Church in Fall River, MA, followed by interment at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River, MA.
