Cecile B.
Desmarais
Aug 18, 1947 — Jul 5, 2024
FALL RIVER - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cecile B. Desmarais on July 5, 2024, at the age of 76, after a courageous battle against declining health. She was the beloved wife of Raymond Desmarais, whom she deeply cherished. This past May, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Born in Fall River, she called the city home throughout her life. She was the daughter of the late Edward Boutin and Irene (Barboza) Saucier.
Cecile enjoyed many things, such as reading romance novels, playing card games, and watching Disney movies; however, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Whether it was hosting her Christmas Eve table, playing board games and watching game shows, making brownies and roasting marshmallows on the stove, or having tea parties, she never missed an opportunity to express her love and make memories.
Along with her husband, she was loved and cherished by many people including her daughter Bernadette DeTerra and son-in-law Kevin of East Freetown; her daughter Valerie St. Pierre and son-in-law James of Fall River; her four grandchildren: Carissa St. Pierre, Sarah Machado, Amber St. Pierre, and Benjamin DeTerra; her three great-grandchildren: Alainna Lloubet, Fiona Taber, and Amaya Taber; as well as many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Cecile will be remembered and missed for her sparkling blue eyes, positive, uplifting demeanor, incredible strength, and endless love.
Cecile's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center for their kind, gentle, and loving care, and to all the friends she made during her stay.
Following cremation, her graveside service at Notre Dame Cemetery will take place on Thursday, July 18th at 9:30 A.M. Arrangements were under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
