RAYNHAM - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dell Warren Taylor, age 89, who passed peacefully at his residence on July 31, 2026. He was the beloved husband to Gisela (Thalwitz) Taylor for over 50 years. Born in Michigan he was the son of the late Lewis Taylor and Pauline (Bottoroff) Taylor. He is survived by his son Robert Taylor (wife Dee), daughter Denise (Taylor) Mondor, and daughter Julie (Taylor) McCauley (husband Kevin).

He proudly served his country in the United States Army as Lt. Colonel, a role he carried with honor and dedication. His military service was an important part of his life and reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment. After completing his distinguished military career, Dell spent many years working in the private sector. Upon retiring in 1998, he embarked on an extraordinary personal challenge: walking 24,902 miles, the equivalent of the Earth's circumference. Beginning on January 1, 2001, he faithfully walked nearly every day through the streets of Raynham, overcoming physical challenges, injuries sustained during his distinguished military service, and even pausing for two years to care for his beloved wife as she recovered from surgery. With her devoted help in recording every mile, Dell ultimately achieved his remarkable goal, a testament to his perseverance, discipline, and unwavering determination. Even after reaching the milestone, he simply remarked that he would "keep walking the same," reflecting the quiet humility and resilience that defined his life.

Private arrangements were entrusted to the care of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River. To send the family Expressions of Sympathy, please click the Guest Book below. You may also light a candle in honor of Dell.
