FALL RIVER – It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to Dolores Duarte, age 80, who passed away peacefully at home on July 17th with her loving family by her side. She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Eugene Duarte. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Alvaro and Albertina (Souza) Silva.

Dolores lived life to the fullest. She loved socializing and dancing. She embodied what it truly means to be "A Lady." Defined by her unwavering kindness, compassion, and generosity, she touched many hearts through her selfless acts and genuine concern for others. She also enjoyed gardening and winters in Florida with her husband. Above all, she cherished moments with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted mother to her daughters Brenda Girard (husband Paul) of Westport and Bethany Duarte of Fall River; grandmother to Brandon Tate, Tyler Medeiros, Brenten Girard, Nathan Girard, Joshua Leach and Dominic DeOliveira; great-grandmother to Ashton & Briana; sister to Joseph Silva and the late Alvaro Jr., Lorraine and Edward Silva. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd  from 8-9:30 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. A funeral mass will follow at Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 A.M.

The burial will take place the following day on July 24th at the MA National Cemetery. If you wish to join the family, please arrive promptly at Manuel Rogers Funeral Home by 12:30 P.M.
