TIVERTON – Dorothy "Dottie" L. (Moreira) McGovern, age 78, passed away on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth D. McGovern and the daughter of the late William & Mary (Moreira) Golden.

Prior to retiring, Dottie worked as a School Bus Driver for the town of Tiverton for 17 yrs. and raising her 5 children. In her earlier days, she worked as a Cloth Looper in the F.R. Knitting Mills. Dottie would also drive for many of the after-school sports teams, and was an avid supporter of Tiverton Youth Sports programs. Better known as "Ma-McGov".

She was very involved in the Tiverton Little League as a coach and supporter, and with the Tiverton High School Boosters Club. Dottie was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton and loved to cook for her family and friends. Most of all, Dottie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Some of her favorite times involved family gatherings for parties or holidays.

In addition to her beloved husband of 60 years, Dottie is survived by her 5 children: Callen McGovern (wife Janis) of Chandler, TX, Kevin P. McGovern (wife Brenda), Scott A. McGovern (wife Sheryl), Colleen Barboza (husband Robert) all of Tiverton, RI, and Debra A. Robidoux (husband John) of Barrington, RI; grandchildren: the late Kenneth J., Meagan M., Timothy S., Glenda J., Samantha J., Kate L., Patrick J., Matthew S., Victoria C., the late Melinda C., Nicholas J., Sarah M., David M., Bethany L., Kathryn A., the late Amanda M., and Dominic J.Q.; great grandchildren: Takoda, Jaiden A., Kaison T., Riley P., and Harper D.; many nieces & nephews.

Dottie's funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. with a Funeral Mass for all to attend on Tuesday, Oct. 19 ^th in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
