Dorothy Soares, age 92, a lifelong resident of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Soares and the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Silvia) Correia.

Prior to retiring, Dorothy had worked for Rochelle Sportswear Co. for over 40 years, and was also a member of the I.L.G.W.U. Some of Dorothy's interests included dining out, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family, extended family, and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Hutzal (late husband Walter A.) and her grandson, Scott Hutzal, whom she adored, both of Fall River; her sweet grand dog, Bella; several nieces & nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her three sisters, Alice Mottas, Mary Carvalho, and Eva Travis.

Dorothy's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 here at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. at 10:00 A.M. Graveside burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 from 5-8 P.M.
