SOMERSET – Eileen (Paiva) Amarelo, age 90 of Somerset, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Cyril "Mc Gil" Amarelo and the daughter of the late Manuel & Gertrude (Rebello) Paiva.

Eileen had been a resident at the Clifton Assisted Living Community for the past 8 years. She loved watching gameshows and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune.  Eileen was a devote Catholic and a proud member and dedicated volunteer of St. John of God Parish for over thirty years.  She was a Marion Medal Recipient and member of the Holy Rosary Society.

Eileen leaves behind her 2 sons: Douglas Amarelo of San Francisco, CA and David Amarelo of Oak Harbor, WA and his wife Candace Rollag; grandchildren: Kate D. Amarelo, Jonathan M. Amarelo and his wife Mary; great grandchildren: Jessica, Zoey and Evangelina; many nieces & nephews. Eileen was the sister of the late Hortense "Tess" Roberts, Margaret Arruda, Mary Rego, Frank Paiva, & Gertrude Troia.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen, will be held on Monday, August 29 ^th at 10:00 A.M. in St. John of God Parish in Somerset. Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home. To offer words of sympathy to the family, please go to www.rogersfuneral.com .
