FALL RIVER – Eliana Andrade (Viveiros) Raposo, age 84, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023, from complications due to COVID-19. She was the beloved wife of the late José S. Raposo, to whom she was married for 51 years, and the daughter of the late Alvaro and Beatriz Viveiros.

Born in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores, Eliana immigrated with her husband and sons to Fall River in 1967. Prior to retiring, she worked as a machine operator in the local garment industry. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Eliana is survived by her two sons and three grandsons: Luis M. Raposo of Sharon and his sons, Andrew (wife Kaofang) and Kevin, and Joseph C. Raposo (wife Sylvia) and their son, Joseph, of Dedham; her brothers and sister, John Viveiros (late wife Maria Amelia), Herbert Viveiros (wife Bernardete), and Mary Correia (husband Jorge), all of Fall River; her sisters-in-law, Maria Raposo (late husband Joseph) of Somerset and Ines Viveiros (late husband Carlos) of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews.

Eliana's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church, 189 Essex Street, Fall River, at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved late husband, José, in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fall River. Calling hours are scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
