FALL RIVER – Elizabeth A. (Fernandes) Pereira, age 78, passed away on May 8, 2024 at St. Anne's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Pereira. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter to the late Manuel and Eva (Vasconcellos) Fernandez.

Elizabeth, better known as Betty, was a teacher's aide at Henry Lord for many years. She loved being surrounded by children. Elizabeth loved Elvis Presley, playing cards, sewing, dancing, going to auctions, doing crafts and spending time with her family. Elizabeth loved going for breakfast and taking rides by the water. Her pride and joy was her son, Kevin. Elizabeth was loved by everyone who knew her for her caring heart and willingness to do anything for anyone.

Elizabeth is survived by her siblings Elaine Medeiros, Michael Fernandes, Ruth Fernandes and David Fernandes; grandchildren Alicia, Joshua and Jenna Fernandes; great-grandchildren Arianna, Aaliyah, Ava and Jayson Chase and her daughter-in-law, Brenda Fernandes. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews; including her goddaughter, Shannon Fernandes and her niece, Kimberly Fernandes who assisted with her care; and her nephew, David Fernandes whom she helped raise. Sadly, Elizabeth was predeceased by her son Kevin Fernandes and her siblings Manuel Fernandez, Ronald Fernandes, Thomas Fernandes and Joaquim Fernandes.

Elizabeth's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Tuesday, May 14th here at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Cathedral at 10:00 AM. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Monday, May 13th from 5-8 PM.
