FALL RIVER – Ermelinda (De Sousa) Patricio, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel E. Patricio. Born in Santa Clara, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late José Inacio De Sousa and Maria da Ascenção (Martins) De Sousa.

Ermelinda immigrated to Canada in 1958, settling in Toronto for nine years before moving to the U.S. in 1966, where she made her home in Fall River for the rest of her life. Before retiring, she worked as a sewing machine operator at River Falls Rothschilds Manufacturing for over 15 years. She enjoyed knitting and gardening, but most of all she cherished spending quality time with her family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her children Joseph Patricio (wife Naomi), Maria Macintyre (late husband Jeffrey), and the late Maria Andre (the late husband Jose) all of Fall River; grandchildren Kimberly Ann Rebello (husband Robert) of Westport, Wendy Lynn Rego (husband John) of Fall River, Mathew Ryan Andre of Fall River, Amber Marie Macintyre of Dartmouth and Alyssa Lynn Macintyre of Fall River; great-grandchildren Emma Rose Rego, Noah Xander Rebello, Logan John Rego, Cole Xavier Rebello, Maxwell Allan Cutter and another little one on the way; sister Filomena Andre; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Almorinda De Sousa, Margarida DaCosta, Jose De Sousa, Georgina Cabral, Angelina Botelho, Norberto De Sousa and Manuel De Sousa.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a mass of Christian burial on Thursday, February 13th at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
