SOMERSET - Ernestine M. Forneiro, age 99, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024, at Clifton Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert M. Forneiro. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Maria (Raposa) Medeiros.

Ernestine was a highly skilled seamstress who worked for several sewing shops in the Fall River garment industry including the Merit, Rondo and Samesta, who supplied clothing to New York distributors.  She traveled across country and enjoyed several cruises with her husband and close friends.  As an active member of St. John of God parish, she participated in numerous activities, including serving as a eucharistic minister. Above all, she cherished spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted mother to her daughter Deborah Rodrigues (husband John) of Somerset and grandmother to Susan Williams (husband James) and great-grandmother to Maria and Grace Williams who were, without doubt, the joys of her life.

A visitation for Ernestine will be held on Friday, June 7th from 8:30-9:30 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. A funeral mass will follow at St. John of God Church, Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Somerset.
