FALL RIVER - Fernando Luis (Crispim) Ponte, age 75, of Swansea, passed away on November 30, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was a resident of Sarah Brayton Nursing Center for the past six years. Born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was the son of the late Luis Borges da Ponte and Maria Fernanda (Silva) Correia. Fernando immigrated to the US in 1970 after completing his military service. He was an avid soccer player and fan and he followed his beloved team Benfica all of his life. He was employed at Roma Color for 25 years, working his way up to Production Manager. Fernando was a past president of the Ribeira Grande Club and a parishioner at St Anthony of Padua Church.

Fernando is survived by his children, Monica Copeland (husband Steve) of Scottsdale, AZ; Diane Lebel (husband Duane) of Somerset; David DeLima of Fall River; Vanessa DeLima of Fall River; grandchildren Olivia Copeland, Camden Copeland and Ava Lebel.

Relatives and friends are welcome to celebrate a mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 AM on Monday, December 6th. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
