Swansea- Florence E. (Mello) Mayo, age 91, passed away on November 26 ^th , at Somerset Ridge.  She was the widow of the late Alfred L. Mayo Sr.; who passed away in 1988.

Born and raised in Somerset, she was the daughter of Manuel and Rose Helen Mello. Prior to her retirement in 1990, she worked for the food industry for 26 years, employed at Fernandes Market and Food Mart in Somerset.  She enjoyed cooking and baking as well as being fashionable and always looking well dressed.  She was a faithful visitor to her son who resides in a special home ran by Peoples Inc. where he receives excellent care.

She leaves one son; Alfred L. Mayo Jr.; her sister; Pauline Golden of Swansea; her granddaughter; Christina Mayo of Providence; three great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sister; Helen Mello; three brothers; Robert Mello, Edward Mello and John Mello.
