FALL RIVER - It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to the beloved Floriano Pereira, who passed away at the age of 74, on June 24, 2023. He was the beloved spouse of Diane Ferreira and born in São Miguel, Açores, of the late Manuel and Maria (Costa) Pereira. Prior to retirement Floriano worked as a refuse collector for DPW for 24 years. He served honorably for the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved music and riding his motorcycles, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including his sons Joseph Pereira (his wife Catherine) of Tiverton, Scott Allen Ruest (his wife Melissa) of New Bedford and Brian Joseph Ruest of Fall River; sisters Agnes and Teresa Fournier of Somerset and Susan St. Martin (her husband Billy) of Taunton; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday, July 3rd here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael's Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours on Sunday, July 2nd from 2-5 P.M.
