Gabriela Ferreira, age 87, of North Kingston, R.I. and formally of Port Charlotte, F.L. and Jamestown, R.I., passed away peacefully Friday, January 28, 2023 at the Grand Islander Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Cunha) Tavares and the wife of the late Robert A. Ferreira.

She was an active member of the International Ladies Garment Works Union.  Gabriela enjoyed gardening and traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Gabriela is survived by a loving daughter, Jo Ann Vickers (Ferreira) and son in law Robert P. Vickers; her granddaughter Mei Ella Catherine Vickers.  She was the sister of Fernanda Kirk and Casimiro Tavares; she was the aunt to many nieces and nephews.
