Gary B. Mavel, age 57 of Somerset, peacefully passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 20, 2024 with his loving family by his side at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, Gary was the son of the late Elbert & Delores (Souza) Mavel, and the former husband of Angela (Macedo) Camara.

Prior to retiring, Gary worked as a floor installer for Ruggerio Flooring. He was a member of the floor coverers union, was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and a NASCAR fan, was a car enthusiast and had been a member of the Mustangs of Massachusetts club. Gary also enjoyed camping at Normandy Farms, listening to classic rock music, and most of all, he loved spending time with his son Bryan, whether it was building model trains, or working on cars.

Gary is survived by his son Bryan G. Mavel and his wife Hannah of Somerset, cousins, nieces, & nephews. Gary was predeceased by his brother Wayne David Mavel.

Calling hours for Gary will take place on Thursday, April 25th from 5-8 P.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. His funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26th in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. by Pastor Ray Zimberlin. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
