Somerset- We are deeply Saddened to announce the passing Geraldine (Cabral) Neves, who was born on December 10, 1940, in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Açores. She passed away on June 24, 2025, at St Annes Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Sabino Cabral and Olinda (Moniz) Cabral.

She was married for 65 wonderful years to Renato and was the heart of her family, known for her love of cooking and feeding everyone who walked through her door. A devoted and active member of St. John of God and the Holy Ghost, she was also a proud member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. John of God. She cherished her grandchildren deeply and found great joy in their presence. She dedicated 15 years of her life working as a seamstress at Star Fashions, and later continued her craft as a tailor at Sullivan Brothers, where she worked for the remainder of her career. Her warmth, generosity, and strong faith will be remembered by all who knew her.

Geraldine was survived by her son Rui Neves and his wife Theresa of Freetown and daughter Susan Neves & Marcus Dyl of Somerset; siblings: Rui Cabral of Lancaster and Alda Casanova of Swansea; grandchildren: Eric Neves and his fiancé Tiffany Couto, Andrea (Neves) Pelletier and her husband Mathew and Jordan Dyl; great grandchildren: Owen Neves and Elaina Neves. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Donna Oliveira.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday, July 1st here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Interment St Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset. Calling hours on Monday, June 30th from 4-8 P.M.
