FALL RIVER – Gil Sardinha, age 72, a longtime resident of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in the comforts of his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Agua Retorta, São Miguel, Azores, Gil was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Isaura (Aguiar) Sardinha. He was the beloved husband of Lidia (Raposo) Sardinha for 47 years.

Prior to retiring, Gil worked as a landscaper for many years. Gil enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an avid Benfica Soccer fan. Most of all, Gil loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Lidia, survivors include his 3 daughters: Jacqueline Sardinha, Jenny Sardinha, and Jillian Sardinha all of Fall River; siblings: Manuel F. Sardinha (Maria), Mario Sardinha (Elvira), Idalina Martins (late Jose Manuel) all of Fall River, Dinis Sardinha (Graca) of Sao Miguel, Azores, and the late Jose Sardinha (Fatima); many nieces & nephews.

Gil's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Saturday, April 22 ^nd here at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Bedford St. at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
