Gilberto A. Velho, age 59 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Born in Santo Antonio alem Capelas, São Miguel, Azores, he was the son of Antonio J. Velho and the late Maria L. (Arruda) Velho

Gilberto emigrated from São Miguel, Azores to the United Stated with his family at the young age of seven. Gilberto mastered his trade in Carpentry and went on to be a very respected carpenter. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking in his basement workshop, and going out to breakfast with his sisters. Gilberto was also an avid Boston Red Sox  & Sporting soccer fan. Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his entire family.

In addition to his father, survivors include his siblings: Mary Januario (husband John), Theresa Lopes, Antonio Velho (wife Carol), and Natalie Amaral (husband George) all of Fall River; nieces & nephews: Kevin & Tanya Januario, Jeremy Lopes & Steven Pereira (companion Valerie Vayens), Antonio Velho Jr., Nathan & Corey Velho, Ashley & Adam Laflash, Felisha & Tyler Amaral (companion Taylor Seay); great nieces & great nephews: Adam Peckham, Skyler Blaze, Haden Ray, Steven & Ella Pereira, Jesse Lopes, Dexon Velho & Tristen Laflash, & Presley Amaral; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gilberto's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023 from 3-6 P.M.
