WESTPORT – Gregory P. Mello, age 67 of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 in the comforts of his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Mona A. (Silvia) Mello and the son of the late William & Laura (Correia) Mello.

Prior to retiring, Greg worked for G. Lopes Trucking Co. as a Truck & Trailer Diesel Mechanic. He was an avid dog lover, enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, tinkering with cars, and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. Greg also treasured his friendship with his close friends, whom he considered to be like his brothers.

In addition to his wife Mona, survivors include his children: Karen Carpenter (husband Robert) and David Mello all of Westport; his grandchildren: Xander Gregory Carpenter and Alyssa Simone Carpenter; nieces & nephews. Greg was also the brother of the late William Mello Jr. & Claudia Frazer; son in law of the late Joseph F. Silvia & Adele Simone Silvia.
