Humberto M. Pavao, age 81, of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, Humberto was the beloved husband of Eduarda B. Pavao and the son of the late Humberto and Gilda Pavao.

In 1978, Humberto embarked on a new chapter, immigrating to the United States from his cherished Sao Miguel Island. Prior to this journey, he had established himself as a lead electrician for the Frederico Matias Company on the island. One of his proudest professional achievements was playing a principal role in installing the island's first hotel elevator, leaving a lasting mark on his homeland. Prior to retiring, he dedicated over 25 years as the Manager at Rolling Green Apartments -Equity properties. Additionally, he successfully owned and operated and provided electrical, air conditioning, and appliance repair, services to the local Portuguese community.

Humberto found joy and happiness spending time with his family going camping, fishing, and traveling. Sundays were cherished for family tradition of mandatory lunch and feasts, a testament to his love for family bonds. Above all, he was an extraordinary man, husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his loving wife of 56 years -love of his life, Eduarda, Humberto is survived by his two sons: Peter Pavao and his wife Cheryl of Swansea, and Rick Pavao and his wife Tracy of Assonet; six grandchildren: Sadie, Logan, Riley, Drew, Leah,&  Madison and their beloved family dog Miguel. He was predeceased by his siblings Luis Pavao, Carlos Pavao, Jose Pavao, Victor Pavao, and Olivia Mederios.

Calling hours to celebrate Humberto's life will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, from 5-8 P.M. at the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River. His funeral service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, starting at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
