Irene V.
Hilario
Aug 13, 1933 — Aug 8, 2026
Fall River
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Irene V. Hilario, age 92, who left us peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 8, 2026, in her hometown of Fall River, Massachusetts.
Born on August 13, 1933, Irene was a lifelong resident of Fall River. She was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Souza) Vincent. Irene lived a full life, marked by dedication to her family, her work, and her community.
Irene was a skilled seamstress, dedicating many years to the garment manufacturing industry and proudly belonging to the Garment Workers Union. Even after retiring from the mills, her commitment to service continued as she worked as a cafeteria worker at The Spencer Borden School until she was 80 years old.
Irene was known for her warmth and her devotion to her family, most especially her daughter, granddaughter, and great grandchildren whom she loved beyond measure. Her faith was an important part of her life as a communicant of Espirito Santo Church and a member of the Women's Guild for many years. Irene loved playing cards and trips to the casino with her girlfriends. She also enjoyed Sunday breakfasts with her family and meeting up with friends for coffee and conversation.
Irene is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Arthur S. Hilario. She was a loving mother to Lisa Pavao and a proud mother-in-law to Manuel Pavao, whom she loved like a son. Her legacy continues through her cherished granddaughter, Hillary Coelho and her husband Trevor, and her adored great-grandchildren, Leilah and Grayson. She was the sister of the late Antone Vincent and the half sister to Elaine Santos and Janet Vallee, as well as an aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Irene will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a gentle and kind soul and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Irene's Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N.
