FALL RIVER – Irene B. Pacheco, age 83, a longtime resident of Fall River peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in the comforts of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Fenais da Ajuda, Sao Miguel, Azores, Irene emigrated to the United States in 1969. She was the beloved wife of the late Deodato Melo Pacheco, and the daughter of the late Francisco Pereira Branco and the late Maria (Rebelo) Branco.

Prior to retiring, Irene worked for Lightolier as an Assembly Worker for 22 years. Irene was a communicant of Santo Christo Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Holy Rosary Society. Irene loved to spend quality time with her large family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Osvaldo Pacheco (Susan) , Paulo Pacheco (David), Henry Pacheco, Jessica Silva, Carmen Pettine, Goretti Eonas, and Annie Pacheco; siblings: Frank Pereira, Gloria Feitor, and Antonia Medeiros; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. Irene was predeceased by her daughter: Lucia Fatima Pacheco, and her brother: Manuel Rebelo.

Irene had a great passion for St. Jude's Children and supported St. Jude Children's Hospital. Her family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or at www.stjude.org .

Irene's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Monday, April 24 ^th here at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in Santo Christo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Sunday from 4-7 P.M.
