Joan A. Ferreira, age 80, a longtime resident of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Better known as "Joanie", she was born June 21, 1944 in Fall River, MA to the late Joseph Ferreira and the late Laura (Placido) Ferreira.

Prior to retiring, Joan worked in the computer division for Kodak Mfg. in New Bedford for many years. She loved living on Noquochoke Lake in Dartmouth, where she would spend many hours enjoying the peacefulness of the water.

Joan is survived by her nephews Christopher Ferreira and his wife Ashleeann, who was also Joan's caretaker, Eddie Ferreira and his wife Wendy; sister-in-law Wanda Ferreira; several great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her only brother Joseph Ferreira, and her nephews Joe and Doug Ferreira.
