SWANSEA - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joanne Kazen, age 81, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Gilbert Kazen. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Olivia (Torres) Raposa.

She was truly one of a kind, adorable, amazing, and full of life. A loving and caring presence with a sharp sense of humor and a touch of sarcasm, she was the backbone of her family and a joy to be around. People were naturally drawn to her. Everyone loved her and wanted to be in her company because she made every moment brighter. Though she didn't need to work, she chose to spend many years as a beloved waitress at JT Restaurant, the Cove at the Inn and Simply Simons, where she genuinely cherished her customers and the connections she made each day. In her quieter moments, she found peace in bird watching, especially delighting in cardinals and hummingbirds. Her laughter, warmth, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She was loved and cherished by many people including her daughters Kim Mulvey (spouse Edward), Dawn Wallace (spouse Kevin Souza) and her late son Michael Wallace; grandchildren Stacy Cruz (spouse Luis) and Frankie Carreiro (spouse Jessica Barboza); great-grandchildren Jazmin Cruz, Shawn Carreiro, Khloe Cruz and Jaxon Chaves; brothers Philip Raposa (spouse Pam) and late Richard Raposa (late spouse Natalie); as well as many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
