FALL RIVER – Joao B. Resendes, age 62 of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Jamaica Plains. Born on July 26, 1960 in Santa Maria, Azores to the late Manuel Santos Resendes and the late Maria Emilia Bairos (Branco) Resendes.

Prior to his illness, Joao worked as a Concrete Laborer for many years. He loved to spend time with his brothers, sisters, nieces & nephews.

He is survived by his brothers & sisters: Jose Branco and Maria Arraial, both of Santa Maria , Azores, Fernanda Bettencourt of Terceira, Azores, David Resendes of Hudson, MA, Natalia Resendes and Teresa Costa, both of Fall River, MA, Jose Antonio Resendes and Paulo Resendes, both of Hudson, MA; many nieces & nephews.

Joao's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023 here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St.  Michael's Church, at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
