It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John G. Machado of Somerset, who passed away on March 12, 2023 at the age of 83. Beloved and devoted husband of the late Cecelia (Coelho) Machado, he could no longer bear being away from his lifelong love and so joined her less than a year later. Those nine months were the longest they had ever been apart since the day they married 62 years ago.  Nothing in heaven or earth could keep them apart.

He was loved and cherished by many people including his children Susan Caron of GA, David J. Machado, and Laurie A. Clark of AL; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

John was born in Fall River, son of the late John and Louise (Lopes) Machado. He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward S. Machado, Dorothy Schaffer, and Linda Moon. John served honorably for the US Navy. He coached Fall River Little League, Hockey, and was active in The Thomas Chew Memorial Boys and Girls Club.
