TIVERTON - In loving memory, we honor the life of John A. Michaels, age 81, who passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026. Born in Fall River he was the son to the late John A. Michaels and Emma Avis (Ferris) Michaels. Together he and his wife Nicolina (Melo) Michaels shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.

John, affectionately known as “Jack,” lived a life filled with hard work, creativity, and many different adventures. He began his working career as a teenager, working as a chef at The Pier in Newport, and went on to hold positions at Frito-Lay, Joan Fabrics, and Walmart. Of all his many endeavors, he especially loved owning and operating Michaels' Florist in Tiverton, Rhode Island, where he could put his creativity to work. A true “Jack of all trades,” he also enjoyed making and decorating cakes, had a passion for photography, and loved watching science fiction television. Jack’s many talents and varied interests were a reflection of his resourcefulness, creativity, and love of trying new things.

Along with his wife, John was survived by his daughters Michelle Calouro (husband Mario Calouro) and Tricia Andrade (late-husband John Andrade Jr.); grandchildren Devan Andrade (wife Alyssa Andrade), Kaylee Ayers (husband Aiden Ayers) Michael Calouro, Ayden Andrade (girlfriend Bianca Harrop); great-granddaughter Mallory Andrade; sister Beverly Moniz (husband John Moniz); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Florence Ameen, brother-in-law Robert Ameen and their son Christopher Robert Ameen.

His funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday, October 19th at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Sunday, October 18th from 2-4 PM.
