John M.
Ramos
Oct 2, 1933 — Apr 21, 2026
Fall River
FALL RIVER - It is with great sadness that we share the news of John M. Ramos, age 92, who passed away at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home on April 21, 2026. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Mendes) Ramos. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Concaison) Ramos.
John was a jokester who was always trying to make people laugh. He was a dedicated member and former President of the Swansea Lions Club and a faithful parishioner of St. John of God, where he generously volunteered his time and culinary talents. John was an avid New England sports fan, rarely missing a chance to cheer on the Red Sox and the Patriots. John and his late wife Geraldine were entrepreneurs all of their lives. Whether it was their dress shop or their restaurant in Swansea, they were always focused on how to make their mark in the community. He was also a skilled artist and carpenter who loved to build. From walking sticks, to cabinetry, to treehouses, to complete homes, John could create beauty out of the simplest materials. He continued to share his passion for building in his retirement while working at The Stevens Home in Swansea. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity, and the pride he took in everything he did. He also served honorably for the US Army.
He was deeply loved and cherished by many, including his daughter, Debra Llorens of North Carolina, and his late daughter, Karen Riendeau of Barrington, who sadly passed recently; his late siblings Gloria Mitchell, Armande Ramos and Anna Gonsalves; 4 grandchildren Montserrat Urnek, Tadhg Irving, Nicole Mastan, and Morgan Llorens; 6 great-grandchildren Gavin, Connor and Cullen Urnek, Patrick and Niamh Mastan, and Dorothy Ann Menna; as well as other family members who will truly miss him.
A visitation for John will be held on Monday, April 27th from 10-11:30 A.M. in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, followed by a service at 11:30 A.M. by Fr. Jason Brilhante. Interment at Vinnicum Woods Cemetery in Swansea.
