FALL RIVER – John C. Simas, age 77 of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Charlton Memorial. Born in Pedreira de Nordeste, São Miguel, Açores, John was the beloved husband of Thirza (Gray) Simas and the son of the late Pedro Pacheco Simas and the late Maria dos Anjos (Cabral) Simas.

John was a veteran of the Portuguese military, having served in Africa. Prior to retiring, John worked in a Carpet factory and enjoyed studying the Bible. He loved to garden and to take trips with his wife, whether it be for a long weekend to Maine, New Hampshire, or any other place that was close by, or a longer vacation to his homeland of the Azores.

In addition to his wife of Fall River, survivors include his children: Linda Simas of Pawtucket, and Robert Simas of E. Providence; siblings: Maria Pereira, Gilbert Pacheco Simas, Daniel Cabral Simas, the late Manuel Cabral Simas, and the late Jose Cabral Simas; 3 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend John's funeral in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Monday, April 4 ^th with a visitation from 9:30-10:30 AM and a service to follow at 10:30 A.M. Interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
