John R. Torres, age 72 of Swansea, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. Born in Fall River, John was the son of the late John & Gertrude (Roy) Torres.

John was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and had worked as a local and federal canine officer. John had also worked as a Sales Manager for Empire Automotive Group.

Survivors include his children: Jason Torres (wife Stacey) of Framingham, MA, Joshua Torres (wife Bryonny) of E. Brookfield, MA, and Leah Torres; siblings: Diane Mattos (husband Glenn) of Somerset, Paul Torres (wife Janine) of Swansea, and Richard Torres (wife Diane) of Swansea; grandchildren: Ayla, Will, James, Jeffrey, & Lola Torres; several nieces & nephews.

Visitation for John will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 9-10:30 AM in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph's church at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
