Jose S. Cabral, age 73 a resident of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born & raised in Capelas, São Miguel, Azores, Jose was the beloved husband of Emerenciana Pereira Cabral and the son of the late Firmino S. Leite and the late Maria Jose Cabral.

Prior to retiring, Jose worked as a commercial fisherman while living in the Azores, and then as a Cloth Weaver for Joann Fabrics here in Fall River. In his spare time, Jose loved to fish, cook for his family and friends, and keep a spotless kitchen. He enjoyed nature & sitting outdoors. Jose was also an Avid Benfica fan and loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Emerenciana, Jose is survived by his children: Sonia Coelho (companion of Heron DaSilva and the wife of the late Joseph M. Coelho) of Dartmouth, Monica D. Cabral of Fall River, and Joe Cabral (wife Lindsey) of Tiverton; siblings: Firmino Leite, Ramiro Leite, Aida Ferreira, the late Gloria Leite; grandchildren: Micaela Camara, Nathan Camara, Emily Coelho, and Nolan Cabral; and many nieces & nephews.

Jose's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, July 27th  with Visitation from 8-9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame  Cemetery, Fall River.
