WESTPORT  - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph "Cowboy" Alves, who passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. Husband of Aida (Amaral Camara) Alves and born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria (Ferreira) Alves.

Prior to retirement, Joseph worked for Whaling Mfg. In addition, he owned his own variety store called Joe's Variety. He was well known by his nickname Cowboy and as a great singer. He loved motorcycles and mustangs, but most of all he loved spending time with family.

Along with his wife, he will be remembered by his siblings Paul Alves and Maria Isabel Alves; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were under the direction of Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
