SWANSEA - Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to Joseph Arruda, age 62, who passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 25, 2025 at RI Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pamela (Fortin) Arruda, and is survived by his loving girlfriend, Kim McIntyre. Born in Feteiras, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Pavao) Arruda.

Joe Arruda was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent over a decade at Walco Electric, taking great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed the thrill of riding his Harley, the energy of a good football game, and the camaraderie of softball. Music was always playing in the background of his life, but nothing meant more to him than the people in it—his family, who he loved fiercely, and his loyal dog Trixie. Joe had a presence that was impossible to miss—full of life, laughter, and warmth. His strength, loyalty, and unmistakable spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was loved and cherished by many people including his children Joshua Arruda (his fiancé Tiffany Carro) and Tiffany Arruda (partner Kevin Riel) both of Swansea; grandsons Darius J. Arruda, Cameron Riel and Jesse Joseph Riel; siblings Marie Arruda-Poirier (husband Roy) and the late Altino and Floirano Arruda; as well as several nieces and nephews.

His calling hours will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, July 31st from 4-7 P.M. with a service at 6 P.M. with our Chaplain Ines Bates. Cremation to follow.
