WESTPORT – Joseph P. Capeto Sr., age 81 of Westport, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Emily M. (Ponte) Capeto and the son of the late Manuel & Maria (Ramos) Capeto.

Prior to retiring, Joseph worked as a road construction machine operator for many years. He was a communicant of St. George's Church and a known walker with a group of his friends at the N. Dartmouth Mall. Most of all, Joseph loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his son: Joseph P. Capteo Jr., (wife Lynn) of Westport; his grandchildren: Heather Areias and Mathieu Capeto; a brother: Sam Capeto; three sisters: Tillie Silva, Louise Ramos, & Mary Machado; nieces & nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his daughter Deborah Capeto.

Joseph's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Thursday, Dec. 30 ^th with a visitation starting at 9:30 A.M., followed by funeral mass in St. George's Church, Westport at 12:00 noon.
