Obituary

SWANSEA-With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph DaCosta, age 87, who passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and loved ones on September 1, 2025 after a long-term illness. He was the beloved husband to Maria (Medeiros) Costa for 61 years. Born in Santo Antonio, Capelas St. Michael Açores, son of the late Jose and Maria A (Oliveira) DaCosta.

Joseph was a proud veteran of the Portuguese Army who served in Angola before Immigrating to the United States in 1964. Although he was forced into disability at an early age, Joseph never stopped creating and caring for the world around him. He found joy in gardening, landscaping, and trimming bushes, always taking pride in making his home and lawn stand out with beauty and care. Joseph was always there for everyone—family, friends, and neighbors alike—offering his support, kindness, and steady presence whenever it was needed. Above all, he was a devoted husband and father whose warmth and generosity touched everyone he met.
