FALL RIVER – Joseph L. Medeiros Jr. age 87, a lifelong resident of Fall River, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 in the comforts of his home with his family by his side. Born in Fall River to the late Joseph L. Medeiros Sr. and the late Josephine (Mello) Medeiros.

Prior to retiring, Joseph worked in the construction industry for many years with F.L. Collins and New England Power Services. He was a 54 year – Gold Member of the Laborer's International Union of North America (LiUNA).

He served 8 years in the Massachusetts National Guard, part of which was active duty in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in the early 1960's during the Cuban Crisis.

Joseph was a lifelong parishioner of Espirito Santo Church/Parish, was an active member of the Holy Name Society and served as an Offertory Collector during most of his adult lifetime. Joseph is survived by his sisters, Marge Geoffroy of Deltona, FL, and Jo Ann Kenyon of W. Yarmouth, MA and Jensen Beach, FL. He is also survived by two nieces, Kelly Ann Kenyon and Shea (Sheri) McMinn Moore, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to being predeceased by his parents, Joseph was also predeceased by his baby sister Joyce Elizabeth Medeiros, and by his niece Colleen McMinn Bell.

Joseph's funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, May 25, 2023 here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in Espirito Santo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery with Military Honors.
